I took a great trip- this morning-well, actually it was a road trip to shoot another episode of my show "Naturally N'Awlins." Ever hear of Insta-Gator Ranch and Hatchery in Covington? Well, it's just a little north of Abita Springs in St. Tammany Parish and well worth visiting in my humble opinion. Five-footers all the way down to infants just hatching out of their shells are commonplace. The facility is open 7 days a week and calling ahead for reservations for the tour is probably the best way to go (even though it's possible to stroll around on your own if you get permission from John Price, the president of the research group). Everything is great,Good cannolis, huge muffaletta and Italian Bread, You have to try all of it. I forgot also the Almond Cookies are great.
